I only do ocasional work in CAD and CAM and work solo (still using fusion for CAM). It is mind blowing, easy and saves a lot of time and money with prototyping. Next year I was offered a deal with SC and Discovery and I pulled the trigger. Quickly I came to speed with SC and noticed I could do about the same in half or 10% of the time it took me on fusion.
Turned out algoryx only worked on spaceclaim. I wanted a cad that had good compatibility with Simwise 4d and algoryx for easy simulations. Later I started a small business and I was fed up with fusion doing bad syncs and deleting some of my files or updates, still does front time to time.
I hated having to waste time fixing history trees (even when I followed good design practices) and specially when I made drastic changes to a design.ĭesign Spark was pretty good and the selection tool was genius. I really started using direct modeling in fusion but it wasn't as smart as I expected regarding understanding my intent and not messing up geometry. Yes I had tried Design Spark before ( as well as fusion 360, ironcad, onshape, inventor, the $99 calibre, solid edge, and solid works for something like 10 years).
